Beyoncé is on the prowl for the next generation of superstars. Over the weekend, the New York Post reported that she has signed three young ladies to her company, Parkwood Entertainment. Beyoncé is on the prowl for the next generation of superstars. Over the weekend, the New York Post reported that she has signed three young ladies to her company, Parkwood Entertainment. However, their five-year contracts, totaling more than 1.5 million dollars combined, are contingent on the approval of a New York judge, since all three aspiring singers are under the age of 18.
Who are these lucky ladies? Chloe Bailey (17 years old) and her younger sister Halle Bailey (15 years old), as well as Sophie Beem (14 years old). The Bailey's have already seen some Youtube success, a lot of which stems from their Beyoncé covers—check out their version of "Pretty Hurts" below, or their renditions of "Best Thing I Never Had," "Love On Top," and "I Was Here" on their Youtube channel. Bey signed the pair for as many as six albums, and the sisters get to split $1 million dollars between them. (Their boss will take 15% of their earnings, according to the Post.) Beem, an X Factor contestant in 2012, will reportedly earn $560,000 dollars; you can watch her perform an original song at a TEDx event here.
The next big question: when these youngsters release albums, will they be exclusive to Tidal?
